Next month’s Glasgow World Cup Gymnastics event – the UK’s only round of the prestigious FIG World Cup series – will allow fans to start their journey to the World Championships in 2015.
The sold out World Cup event will mark the launch of the new World Championships website and the release of some very exciting news around tickets. Featuring new enhancements and greater opportunities for fans to share in the build-up to 2015, the new website is set to become the hub for all things World Championships. Information on how and when to secure 2015 World Championships tickets will also be announced on the eve of two extremely exciting years for gymnastics in Glasgow.
Starting with the sold out 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow will play host to the biggest names in artistic gymnastics as the city welcomes the 2014 World Cup series and the World Championships from 23 October until 1 November 2015. For many of the world’s top gymnasts, Glasgow will become a ‘second home’ as they compete at successive World Cup events, the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2015 World Championships.
Featuring multiple Olympic, World and European medallists the Glasgow World Cup on 7 December is round two of the FIG World Cup series. Last year’s capacity crowd witnessed a titanic battle in the men’s competition between Great Britain’s Dan Purvis and eventual World Cup series champion Marcel Nyugen of Germany. In the Women’s competition, America’s Elizabeth Price dominated the field to secure back-to-back World Cup victories following a dazzling performance in Stuttgart.
