Gemstones gymnastics club based in Lambeth, London is the latest club to win tickets to attend the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships, as part of the British Gymnastics ‘Be Part Of it’ campaign, run in a conjunction with the World Gymnastics Championships organisers .
Gymnastics clubs across Britain were encouraged to get involved with the campaign, which was designed to put clubs at the heart of the championships, provide them unique experiences and opportunities to engage and interact with the event.
Gemstones won competition number three, to ‘welcome the worlds’ as Glasgow gets set to welcome 593 gymnasts from 87 countries across the globe to the city for the championships in just eleven days-time. Gemstones took the opportunity to submit an entry which welcomed the nations saying ‘hello’ in over 20 languages. Their creativity and effort shone through and they were chosen as the winning club by Great Britain gymnast, Daniel Purvis.
Gemstones Gymnastics Head Coach, Jade Eden said: “It is such an honour for a small club like Gemstones to win this amazing prize, we still can't believe that we were selected out of all of the entries.
“Gemstones is a very diverse gym club, with members who have origins from many different countries and this is what gave us the idea to say 'hello' in as many languages as possible to be able to welcome all the gymnasts from around the world to the World Championships.”
